Here are the steps to set up an avatar.

Step 1:
Click on the "My account" link in the menu.

 

Step 2:
Your account page will be displayed.  There are three tabs (View, Edit and Track).  Click on the Edit tab.

Step 3:
On the Edit tab, scroll down to the Picture section.  Click on the browse button to locate the picture (on your computer) that  you want to use as your avatar.

 

Step 4:
Once you have selected the picture to use for the avatar and click on the OK button, the file name will be put into the Upload picture box.  Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen.  Your avatar has now been created and will be displayed beside your forum posts.  Please note that the image will be automatically resized and formated to fit in the appropriate space on the forum page.

 

Notes:

The picture you select will be automatically re-sized and cropped.  The re-sized image will be square.
